The thermo calender roll shell is manufactured from chilled cast iron. The roll features peripherally drilled longitudinal holes to the surface, allowing heat-transferring oil to circulate through these channels before being led out.
Roll journals are constructed from steel and securely fastened to the roll shell with bolts. These journals include conical mating surfaces for roller bearings and are equipped with oil channels for bearing dismounting using pressurized oil. The roll maintains a surface temperature difference of ≤±2℃.
